An event dedicated to container and hollow glassmaking has been deemed a success.
Glassmakers from around the region attended the Glassman Asia event in Bangkok, Thailand last week, which included an exhibition and conference dedicated to glassmaking.
Viwat Supatham, Chairman of the Glass Manufacturers Industry Club, the Federation of Thai Industries (GMFTI), and Managing Director at Siam Glass, helped officially open the event and provided a keynote speech about the region.
Representatives from prestigious glassmakers including Thai Glass Industries, Bangkok Glass, Thai Malaya Glass, Asia Pacific Glass (APG), Siam Glass, Ocean Glass, Bangkok Crystal, Iran’s Noritazeh, Austria’ Stoelzle and India’s Hindusthan National Glass & Industries were among the 763 attendees.
Overseas suppliers such as Iris Inspection machines, GPS, Xpar Vision, Heye International, FIC UK and Bottero were among the exhibitors.
The conference, titled Future Glass Forum, focused on Industry 4.0 in container and hollow glassmaking.
Steve Diprose, Managing Director of show organiser, Quartz Business Media, said: “I would like to extend my thanks to all the exhibitors and visitors who have helped make the show a success.
“I would like to thank our Thai hosts and in particular the GMFTI who supported the show and encouraged their members to attend in such numbers.
“The initial feedback we have had from exhibitors has been very positive. They were pleased to have had discussions with a variety of manufacturers both from the region and further afield.
“We will explore opportunities to bring the show back to the region in the very near future.”
