Anchor Glass Container Corporation (“Anchor Glass”) announced earlier this week the closure of its Zanesville, Ohio mold fabrication plant, and its Streator, Illinois machine repair shop. The Zanesville facility employs 69 people. Mold production is projected to cease by the end of November 2018. A mold engineering office will be maintained in the area. The Streator facility employs 10 people. Operations are expected to cease before the end of the third quarter. Anchor will provide transition assistance for affected employees at both locations.
These actions will allow Anchor Glass to focus its resources even more closely on its core business of making the highest quality glass containers.
